Calgary's mayor is suggesting he'd like to re-open negotiations with the Tsuu T'ina nation to build the southwest corner of the ring road on reserve land.
The city is currently considering five options for the ring road, all of them within the city's boundaries.
The preferred option is to run the link along 37th street, connecting to Highway 22X.
Public hearings on the options will begin soon.
But Mayor Naheed Nenshi says he doesn't like any of the current options and he is developing a good relationship with the Tsuu T'ina.
In 2009. members of the Tsuu T'ina nation rejected a previous agreement that would have seen part of the ring road built on the reserve.
